The Office of Adult Education is pleased to announce the brand new Tech Skills tutor training, scheduled to launch August 2017! This training is designed for volunteers that are interested in bridging the digital divide through education. Volunteers will be equipped with an understanding of adult learning theory as well as strategies for improving the digital literacy of adults.
Trained tutors will be placed at KEYSPOT open access computing labs or adult education programs throughout Philadelphia. At these locations, tutors can work with learners on-on-one to teach digital skills, assist multiple clients with questions about technology, or assist with scheduled digital literacy and job readiness trainings. This is a two-week, asynchronous training that will be led by an instructor and offered compeltely online. Enrollment is open now and the first cohort will begin August 27.
